Sanoma is an European Group, originated in Finland, that operates in 20 countries and in a big variety of fields, all of them are related with the mass media and education. In this way they offer information, education, entertaining and experiences to millions of people.
Option and Sanoma have developed more than 1.000 educational resources starting from 350 online games (250 related with mathematics and 100 with language), illustrations, educational apps and apps for tablets. In the two last examples the apps were created with the objective of promoting the development of different disciplines. For example, the user can color some of the characters form the apps, read stories, solve puzzles and play some brain and mathematics games, among others.
All this were developed by Option during the years 2011 and 2012.
One of the biggest challenges at the moment of creating this project was working for different platforms. The games are available for systems like Android, Kindle, iOS and Web, so they needed to be developed with different systems.
The games for the web version were created for Adobe Flash with the software Actionscript 3. The ones for tablets were developed with Adobe InDesign and exported with the system ePUB3.
